Chimera Lodge was founded in the spirit of the meaning of wanting to explain, as close as possible, the characteristics of traditional Freemasonry as expressed today by the Regular Grand Lodge of Italy and the overall Mother Grand Lodge, the United Grand Lodge of England.
The brethren retain that it is essential to methodically and continuously study the Emulation Ritual, in its faithful and unchanged form in the course of the various ceremonies, not just as a mere esthaetic exercise, but using the words of the MW the Past Grand Master, Bro. Giuliano Di Bernardo, “. . . . . Rituals are ‘fragments’ of an overall vision of Freemasonry which illuminate the practical life of a Mason” to help him reach awareness.
The Chimera Lodge meets in Arezzo at the Masonic Hall of the Regular Grand Lodge of Italy, in Via Borg’Unto, 6 on:-
First Saturday of October (Installation)
Third Thursday of November, December, February, April, May and June.
The Emblem of the Lodge, a white Chimaera on a purple background, encircled with seven stars as in the 1st Degree Tracing Board, is meant to recall both the strong local connotation and the reflection of character from imagination or fantasy to an inclination in freedom of thought and therefore an ability in perception and interpretation beyond common feeling.
It is associated with the motto of the Lodge “ freedom I want . . . . and who doesn’t want it” by Tommaso Campanella, in an attempt to build up in graphical and written terms the spirit of mysticism and the will for perfection in a bright, joyful and creative brotherhood.
